Skill Level: Beginner-intermediate
Materials: ~ Two strands of worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver) ~ 6mm hook ~ Scissors ~ Yarn needle
Pattern Abbreviations: ~ mc: magic circle ~ ch: chain ~ sc: single crochet ~ sl: slip stitch ~ rep.: repeat ~ bo: bind off ~ st/sts: stitch, stitches
Pattern Notes: ~ On every row, be sure to NOT sc into the sl of the previous row (see figure 1/ tOP OF PAGE)

~This pattern is very customizable! If you know how to increase when working a flat circle, you can increase the diameter of your basket, if you wish. Also, of course, you can make your basket however you prefer. ~When you are making your beginning ch 1, try to make the chain bigger, so that you will not miss it when you are approaching it at the end of the row.
Instructions *From the bottom, up* ~Row 1: Mc, ch1, 6sc into the mc, pull mc tight, sl into ch1. Ch1. ~Row 2: 2sc in each st around (12sts).Sl into ch1. Ch1. ~Row 3: 1sc into the first st, 2sc into the next st. *1sc in the next st, 2sc in the next st*. Rep.** until end of row (18sts). Sl into ch1. Ch1. ~Row 4: 1sc over the next 2sts, 2sc into the next st. *1sc over the next 2sts, 2sc into the next st*. Rep.** until end of row (24sts). Sl into ch1. Ch1. ~Row 5: 1sc into the BACK LOOP of each st of the row, until end of row (24sts). Sl into the ch1. Ch1. * Working in only the back loop for just this round, will create the flat bottom of the basket.* ~Row 6: 1sc (under both loops) in every st of the row. Sl into the ch1. Ch1. ~Repeat row 6 until your basket is as tall as you would like it. My basket is approx. 4” tall. ~When your basket is as tall as you would like, bo, & weave in all tail ends. ~If you wish, you can now add any embellishments to your adorable little basket, or enjoy as is!
